2007年教改之后,奠基阶段(一至四年级)的重点是口语能力的训练。在训练听说能力的同时,基本的写话能力也同步进行。除了语文的学习,培群也照顾到学生的人文素养。课程包括中华历史课、文化课,甚至还有传统价值观的灌输。有了语文的奠基,升上五、六年级就是定向阶段了。学生根据自己的学习能力来自主学习,增加阅读量、拓展阅读面,同时加强写作能力。此外,为配合教育部以学生为本,价值为导向的教育方针,培群也开办了双语传媒课程,通过体验式学习,提供深究和拓展知识的机会,同时提升21世纪技能。 双语传媒课程采用实践模式,融入现有英文和华文课程内,并成为重点校本课程。大体来说,双语传媒课程以下列三项为基石: • 应用学习和21世纪技能的普及教学 • 品格教育 • 沟通技能 。

In line with the recommendations made by the Chinese Language Curriculum and Pedagogy Review Committee, the focus at Lower Primary is on Oral Skills. Writing skills is also introduced at this stage. Besides the six language skills, the cultural aspect is incorporated into the curriculum too. This includes Chinese History, cultural knowledge and moral values. At the Upper Primary, pupils learn at their own pace whereby they are introduced to various reading materials to enhance their reading skills. With the foundation laid in Lower Primary, writing skills are further developed. In line with the MOE’s emphasis on a ‘Student-Centric, Values-Driven’ education, our school has also embarked on a Bilingual Media Studies Programme (BMSP). This aims to offer our pupils more opportunities to pursue learning in line with their interests and deepen their 21st century competencies through applied learning experiences. The Bilingual Media Studies Programme adopts a practice-oriented approach and will become an integral part of the school-based curriculum, complementing the national curriculum for both English language and Chinese language. Broadly speaking, our BMSP builds on the following three blocks : • Broad-based development in applied learning and 21st century competencies ; • Character building ; and • Communication excellence.


校方全面推动的 “我爱阅读” 是要提高学生的阅读风气。一个热爱阅读的孩子是不会学坏的。每个星期固定有三天的早课,通过一些有趣的内容来提高学生对学习华文的兴趣,同时也通过此平台灌输正确的传统价值观。除了重视素养的培训,我校也按照学生的学习特性,设计了写作、口试、阅读、历史课等校本。针对三至六年级的学生,我们也开发了 “双语知多少” 的内容,让学生对两个文化的差异和语言的不同有一个基本的概念。 “华语怎么说” 课程也为学生提供了认识不同区域的语言使用习惯的机会。四、五年级的学生在接受了采访、编辑及新闻报道等课程的培训后,将有机会针对学校的各项活动进行采访、报导。 “小老师计划 “则是训练高年级学生领导能力的平台。通过此平台,学生将有机会指导学习能力较弱的低年级学生。。

iRead Programme is introduced as a school-wide programme. Every pupil has to complete reading tasks both in English and Chinese Language. Twice a week, pre-assembly programmes are conducted to introduce the learning of the language in a fun and interesting way. School-based Learning Packages are developed based on the learning needs of the pupils. Essay Writing Skills, Oral Skills, History lessons, Bilingualism Matters Programme, Speaking in Mandarin are some examples. Primary 4 and 5 pupils will go through training on reporting, interviewing and editing skills. After the completion of the courses, they will take on the responsibility of reporting on school activities. Peer Tutoring Programme provides a platform whereby upper primary pupils hone their leadership skills while teaching their lower primary school mates.



Pupils are assessed holistically through formative and summative assessments. The latter is the normal continual or semestral examinations that the pupils go through. Formative Assessments are used in the different levels whereby language skills are assessed over a period of time with teachers’ guidance. The types of Formative Assessment could be a task-based assignment, or assessment of oral skills, listening skills and etc.
